Great, let's get started. First of all, can you tell us a bit more about your story?
Yes, of course. So, for starters, I was born in Beijing, China, on January 12, 2015. That's where I was made, by a brand whose name I don't think I can mention. I was then transported to Europe, by boat, more precisely to Belgium, where I landed in a sporting goods distributor. Then my time in Europe began.
Indeed, one day, a 16-year-old teenager entered the store, headed for the soccer department, and tried on numerous sports jerseys for a long time. However, none of them fit the way she wanted. This young girl was very disappointed. She had been a member of a soccer club for a few years and was looking for a new jersey, as hers had just torn. Unable to find one, she was about to leave the store, when a sales assistant pointed out to her, as a last resort, a jersey whose color didn't appeal to customers, and which was therefore being discarded, as well as soon being destroyed if it didn't find a buyer... Me.

The teenager loved the color. So she tried it on, and within minutes I was out of the vending machine and discovering my new home. This girl was very good at soccer, and I won many games with her. Unfortunately, as the years went by, she grew taller and taller, and I was less and less suited to her. So I wasn't much use to her in recent years, until she heard about the Decathlon Belgium X NOLT campaign. Decathlon Belgium was organizing a major collection of used sportswear, with the aim of giving it a new lease of life with NOLT. Individuals from all over the country brought their sportswear to their Decathlon store. So she also took me to a Decathlon store, where I was collected, along with many other products (1 tonne of clothes collected in all!).
I then went on to SYNERGIES TLC, where I was transformed into a plot, in France, with the NOLT brand, which sells eco-friendly sportswear and accessories, thanks to its French, Spanish and Portuguese partners. And my colleagues and I can be found right here.
But that's just great! And, tell us, isn't it too complicated? How are you living this new life of plot sport?
No, not at all, it's great! I really appreciate that it was made by an eco-responsible start-up from Nice. I also love the sea, even if I don't go there very often because duty calls me to the stadiums.
Okay, okay... But what makes you so eco-friendly?
So... I was recycled and transformed in France. What's more, a NOLT stud, like me, uses 3 times less water and has 5 times less impact on climate change than traditional sports studs. What's more, with just one recycled jersey, you can make 8 to 10 cups. By buying them and embarking on the circular adventure with us, you're helping to preserve the planet.
Now that's real ecological innovation! And Decathlon told us you'd be passing on a message about sport studs, is that the case?
Yes, it's true. As an added bonus, Decathlon has also become the official NOLT distributor in Belgium for clubs. ✨
